Words of wisdom from the tech elites

Let's skip the contentious issue about tech elites being difficult to work with. And let's not include those reported complaints by their neighbors. These individuals have a vision, but to achieve it would require more than an effort. It can be the unconventional mindset, which might affect their relationship with their family and colleagues. It may be the attitude that puts off those who don't know them too well. It will be the lifestyle, which will be embraced by a few people. But this doesn't keep thousands of netizens from following them in social media. They are doing something right.

What words of wisdom can the likes of Mark Zuckerberg impart to netizens? Taping up a webcam won't be one unless you're a high-profile figure like the chairman and co-founder of Facebook. There are five:

Look up to Bugs Bunny. There's nothing amusing about Bugs Bunny chewing on carrot and opening his (short) conversation with "What's up, Doc?". Carrot happens to be a good source of beta-Carotene, which improves eye health. You're hooked to the computer screen for hours, if not the entire day. (We must include those moments when we check social media from our mobile phones.) This can affect our vision in the long run. Aging will be another factor, which is why we need to consume yellow and orange fruits and vegetables.

Take a shower. Don't let your worries keep you from having a shower. This will put you in a fine mood. It will be the perfect start for the working day. Studies have shown that a good bath will improve (blood) circulation. If you have too much stress, then your body needs to switch to the relax mode. Take it from Elon Musk.

Success can be a lousy teacher. Tech elites can be a stubborn lot, but they can be good listeners. Bill Gates would attest that his unhappy customers were his greatest source of learning, as his willingness to listen to negative feedback was the main reason behind his enormous success. You don't need to be afflicted with wanderlust to be able to have an open mind. You have nothing to lose (if you do it). Something might happen along the way as well. It turns out that you're in the right place at the right time.

You must have a hobby. There's nothing about your life revolving around your job, but not all employees can say that they get paid for what they truly love to do. Some people must do it to raise their families, but others have time to indulge in a hobby or two. It's important to have something else, as there's such a thing as getting burned out in the workplace. It can happen to the best of people.

Set some personal goals. It can be Marvel goals, even travel destinations. You can't be complacent, as this will affect you sooner or later. And you don't want it to happen during working hours.

If these won't be enough, then you might want to have your own weird notebook. Mike Parker can help you on this one.
