What will make you get up in the morning?

There's such a thing as a honeymoon period, where you hit the snack earlier than usual and get up when everyone is still in a deep sleep. You're a newbie in your workplace, and you want to show how invaluable you are. The feeling will dissipate, if not disappear, a year later. It can be similar to exercising, where consistency becomes an issue.

There are days when you rather lie down during the entire morning, but it's not a Sunday. And you're not the only one who yearns on a Friday (during Monday). Your paycheck is what keeps you getting up every morning, during weekdays. But there must be more to it.

Why not keep one Sunday to yourself? You must not have any commitments, not too many errands to do. Try to look back at your first, if not second, year in the workplace. Identify the things that motivate you. Here they are:

You have something to do. Spending hours in a hammock seems tempting, and you become restless when you imagine the surroundings. White sands, azure sea, cloudless sky. And the sun is shining. It might be too bright, as you've become aware of the glaring (sun)light outside your room. You learned about your housemate who took a risk by living a nomadic existence in a tropical region. Not that you look down at such kind of individual, but you're rather the sensible type. There are days when you keep on telling yourself to go to the office because you need to. You don't feel like it, but you're glad of accomplishing the tasks that you must do. And you can be proud of yourself when you look back to it.

It will give you an excuse to do nothing during the weekend. There are household chores that need to be done every weekend. And it won't hurt to check your inbox. (This won't take half an hour.) You couldn't believe your parents when you first heard it, but you figured out the wisdom (behind their words). There are days when you tend to be a workaholic, but you're aware that the time will come when your body can't be up to it. You need to rest. You'd rather do nothing at all. It will be nice if it will be a few hours, as this will give you time for other things. (You do have interests.) It's nice to have no worries. Preparing your working clothes may be an exception.

Meeting your colleagues. You may not be chummy with your colleagues, and there's a little chance that they become members of your extended family. Whether you agree or not, your relationship with your colleagues is important. After all, you spend more time with them (during the weekdays). And you don't want any awkward moments with them. It might affect your performance, which won't be good in the long run.

If we missed something, don't hesitate to tell us. If you disagree, raise your voice. It might help you.
