Questions for the week

There are job-related issues that distract you. Maybe you need enlightenment, and this can be the right venue. Let's have a look:

Is it OK to take a second role at work? You don't want to be a fool, so you rather not take it. But let's look at it thoughtfully. Think about the near future. If a second role will help you in climbing up the career ladder, then don't have second thoughts about it. Your boss will even like it. Before you agree, think if you can do two sets of tasks. You don't want a colleague to see your complaints on Facebook. Time will be another thing. How long will you do it? Perhaps you might want to discuss it with your superior. If you can get a promotion and a salary raise after a time period, then you shouldn't think twice. On the other hand, you must rely on your instinct. If you feel like being duped, then this can be the right time to look for another job. It might be possible that you won't leave in good terms. (Office politics shouldn't be dismissed, even if you're performing well.) This is not an either/or case, but you'll never know until you find out. As long as you keep on doing a good job, then you'll be fine.

Why more men opt for part-time work? They are likely unemployed for some time, and they haven't been hired. Yet. They rather take their time, which is the right thing to do. Instead of getting desperate and hopeless, they should learn from their work experience. It will be better to keep a positive attitude. A shift in values can be another reason. Studies would reveal more men wanting to take an active part in raising their children. Parenting can be demanding, so the responsibility (of raising a child) must be shared by the couple. Parental leave is a chance for more parent-child bonding, not to watch more football games.

Are early birds the most productive workers? If the job requires manual tasks, then there's no doubt about it. In fact, one must recall exercising. (It will be best to do it after getting out of bed.) If you find it hard to believe, then try to remember college. You would prefer to write your paper right away, as procrastination can affect your plan (for the following day and the day after next.) And you'll be disheartened for not getting a good grade. (Hard work must be recognized.) It's not so different from the workplace unless it's a literary career. In this case, a night owl might do better.

Is commuting the best part of the day? The answer will be yes if you happen to live in a town. It might be the weekend if you feel that way, if not you'll have a job interview. Otherwise, the rush hour can be stressful. If you have to bring your kid to school, then let's talk about it somewhere else.
